I constantly think about birds. It's my happy place.
This weekend I'm going birding. Last weekend I went birding. Ihe weekend after next i'm taking a five day weekend so my wife and I can go to the Oregon coast to visit the aquarium there (and go birding).
Today during a meeting with a coworker she mentioned an owl trying to attack her in the park when she went jogging in the morning because she knew I loved birds and I spent too much of the meeting asking her for details so I could try to figure out what kind of owl it was. I'm pretty sure it was a barred owl. Thinking about work or practical things I need to do makes me sad and thinking about birds makes me happy.
Here's a photo of a barred owl:

Here's a photo of the owl I'm currently fascinated by. It's a Great Grey Owl. They live in Canada and Russia and the Rocky Mountains. They are the tallest owl, but not the heaviest, because most of their bulk is just feathers. The second photo shows the extent to which they are all fluff.
That photo is from wikipedia and i dont know who made the funny pink gradient but I love it.
