In the last post I made I said about the Green-Winged Teal, "I guess it's cool or whatever." This was wrong of me. The Green-Winged Teal is a beautiful duck and should not be looked down upon just because it's sibling the Blue-Winged Teal looks like a sexy 90s hooker duck in its leopard print while it looks, idk, a little bit like a couple other duck species.
Blue-Winged Teal, you are a sexy, sexy bitch.
In other news, I did get a digital camera (from 2006) that is capable of taking photos of birds (it has a 12x zoom). I'm not saying it's capable of taking amazing photos of birds. I'm saying it's capable of taking photos of birds, unlike my phone, which sucks at it.
A cell phone photo of a Bald Eagle.
New (for 2006) digital camera photo of an American Robin.
Hopefully this will lessen my dependence on random internet photos of birds and instead be able to show you the actual birds I saw (sort of). Okay, I'll still probably have to post the other photos, but this will help me remember the birds I saw, even the ones I couldn't identify immediately!
Still figuring out where I want to do birding this weekend, but I'm hoping to hit Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge: the hotspot for birding in the south puget sound area. Stay tuned :)
